The Table Top Mountain Trail is a challenging 9.1-mile out-and-back hike located in the Sonoran Desert National Monument, approximately 25 miles southwest of Casa Grande, Arizona. This trail offers a strenuous ascent with an elevation gain of about 2,000 feet, leading hikers to the summit of Table Top Mountain at 4,373 feet. The trail traverses diverse desert landscapes, including saguaro forests, lava rock fields, and ancient stone walls of unknown origin. The summit provides panoramic views of surrounding mountain ranges and desert plains. Due to its remote location and challenging terrain, the trail is best suited for experienced hikers. Visitors should prepare for extreme heat, especially during summer months, and carry ample water, as no water sources are available along the trail. Pets are not permitted, and camping is allowed at the nearby trailhead campground.
