Peanut Island

Peanut Island is a captivating 80-acre tropical park nestled in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Lake Worth Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida. Originally created in 1918 from dredged material during the construction of the Lake Worth Inlet, the island was initially named Inlet Island. It was later renamed Peanut Island due to a short-lived plan to establish a peanut oil shipping terminal there in 1946 .
